SSD vs. HDD : What’s the difference?
There’s no straight-forward answer to this question; each buyer has different needs and you have to evaluate the decision based on those needs, your preferences, and of course budget.
So before choosing between them, let us know what is HDD and SSD
HDD : A hard disk drive (HDD) is an old-school storage device that uses mechanical platters and a moving read/write head to access data.
HDD |
SSD : A solid-state drive (SSD) is a newer, faster type of device that stores data on instantly-accessible memory chips.
Why you need HDD ?
- You need lots of storage capacity, up to 10TB.
- Don’t want to spend much money.
- More storage in less money.
- Long lasting storage.
- Good for archival purpose (eg, Movies, music etc.)
- HDD retains data longer than an SSD.
Some Benefits Of HDD :
1. More Affordable Than SSD : One of the main advantage of HDD is that it is less expensive than SSD.One can easily afford HDD.
2. Higher Storage Capacity : HDD provide more storage capacity than SSD. Nowdays SSD is providing 128GB storgae where as HDD is providing 1TB storage.
3. Longer Lifespan Than SSD : HDD is long lasting storage than SSD. An SSD can not write a single bit of information without erasing and then rewriting.
Don’t care too much about how fast a computer boots up or opens programs - then get a hard drive (HDD).
HDDs are still the popular choice for the majority of average consumers, usually choosing the HDD as the storage option in their new computer simply due to the much cheaper cost.
So that's why HDD is still good choice foin 2020.
